The key to teaching division to young students that have only recently been introduced to more complicated forms of mathematics is to make the student feel involved with the process, whilst finding it enjoyable at the same time. Math worksheets are effective, but there are other ways you can effectively teach math. This is pretty much the generic form of teaching that proves to be most effective amongst children and young students.
Calculators have been infiltrating elementary schools for years, depriving children of the experience of learning vital mental skills. There´s no need for calculators for even large division problems. Certainly nothing an elementary school-age child will ever be faced with should require a calculator.
You can also try and teach division just like you would teach the multiplication tables, through division worksheets. By teaching ´5 times 2 is 10´ and ´5 times 3 is 15´, you can reverse it and let your students learn by saying things like ´10 divided by 5 is 2´ and ´15 divided by 5 is 3´. Of course, this isn´t applicable to much large numbers when it comes to learning to divide by larger numbers, but it´s a good start.
