You can also try and teach division just like you would teach the multiplication tables, through division worksheets. By teaching ´5 times 2 is 10´ and ´5 times 3 is 15´, you can reverse it and let your students learn by saying things like ´10 divided by 5 is 2´ and ´15 divided by 5 is 3´. Of course, this isn´t applicable to much large numbers when it comes to learning to divide by larger numbers, but it´s a good start.

There are many strategies how teachers can get their students engaged. In his book "The Art and Science of Teaching", Robert Marzano describes student engagement. Marzano states that people naturally like to play games! Marzano statements indicate that when teachers present their learning materials in the form of games and puzzles, students will take the bait and learning will take place.

The best way to treat many math problems is to first find the source of the problem and to adapt the instruction to concentrate on weak areas. Regular at-home math practice is absolutely critical during the first few years of a child´s education, as at-home practice will serve to reinforce concepts and to allow children to move along at a faster pace. Practice is especially important during the holidays, the summer and during other breaks in a child´s school year.
